Aula OMCA 1000 Oak, Oakland, CaliforniaJoin us for the premiere of The School – The Legacy of Hintil Ku’u Ca, a powerful film created and directed by an all-Native team. This documentary traces the origins of Oakland’s first urban Native child development center, which began during the All-Tribes occupation of Alcatraz Island (1969-1971) and is still in operation today.

Kamau Bell will lead a powerful conversation with filmmaker and artist Adrian L. Burrell, CEO of the Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation Carolyn Johnson, and New York Times bestselling author of Nightcrawling, Leila Mottley. These Oakland-born artists and community leaders will set the OMCA Garden stage with an engaging dialogue on the power of art and social change. We’ll then celebrate under the stars with entertainment, dancing, food, and drinks.

Hella Juneteenth Festival returns to OMCA
Gran Sala OMCA 1000 Oak, Oakland, CaliforniaGet ready for an unforgettable Juneteenth celebration at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA)! In partnership with Hella Creative, this year’s celebration promises another unforgettable day of community, culture, and delicious bites that pay tribute to Black heritage. Año Nuevo Lunar
OMCA celebra el Año Nuevo Lunar y explora las conexiones compartidas entre las diversas culturas asiáticas del Área de la Bahía. Estos programas familiares incluirán ofertas virtuales y presenciales que celebran y honran las tradiciones del Año Nuevo Lunar a través de cuentos, actuaciones, actividades, demostraciones de cocina y mucho más. La OMCA ofrece un espacio para que nuestras comunidades AAPI se reúnan y se eleven mutuamente con círculos de curación tanto presenciales como virtuales.
