Become an OMCA Volunteer
Convertirse en voluntario de OMCA es fácil.
Volunteering at OMCA gives you a chance to get more involved with the museum you love. We are always recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to assist with school groups, cultural celebrations, public programs, gardening, administrative support and more.
Our Volunteer Team has set up an easy 3 step onboarding process:
- Register on Shiftboard by clicking this link.
- Attend an onsite OMCA Volunteer Information Session
(dates for upcoming information session are posted on shiftboard calendar)
- After attending a Volunteer Information Session, you will receive our Volunteer Handbook and info to complete a minimal Background Check.
That’s it!
After that, our volunteer calendar will open up and you will be able to get started with shifts. Some of our roles require training and commitment. All trainings are provided and commitments vary with roles and/or events.

Ways to
Volunteer

Our Visitor Welcoming team works directly with OMCA’s Frontline Ticketing and Retail Staff and focuses on welcoming our visitors to campus in a variety of ways.
If you like interacting with people and helping them get the most out of their visit to OMCA this is the role for you!

Come join us in some gardening and support our Living Collections Team.
Roles are seasonal and can include tasks such as: weeding, mulching, planting and fun in the sun!

Cultural Celebrations, Viernes Nights, Jueves After Hours, Spotlight Sundays and so much more!
OMCA puts on many public programs throughout the year that depend on volunteer support to help us uplift and nurture our deep ties to the community.

Gallery Chats puts a twist on the traditional museum tour. Using an informal approach, Gallery Chats Facilitators combine content knowledge with lived experience. By centering community voices and encouraging dialogue in our galleries, Gallery Chats Facilitators provide meaningful and fresh interpretations of our Galleries.
For more information and recruitment cycle please see the Gallery Chats Program Description for Facilitators.
