This 星期五, celebrate Earth Day in the Bay at OMCA! Join us for an unforgettable day in OMCA’s outdoor garden, filled with performances, games, and hands-on activities that will engage visitors of all ages. This free event, in partnership with Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) teachers and students, celebrates sustainability and environmental themes with arts, sciences, and local culture, all working towards a greener future for the Bay Area. Voices of all ages will be featured, making it an inclusive, fun, and meaningful way to connect with the Earth and each other.

This 星期五, join us at OMCA for a night of Latin rhythms, dance, and vibrant energy! Dos Four, a dynamic fusion of Caribbean and Afro-Latin sounds, will take the stage, blending Salsa, Cumbia, Salsa Choque, Latino House, and more. Lead singer and songwriter Leyder Chapman, originally from Cuba, brings his passion for music to the Bay Area, offering feel-good tunes for all ages. With his rich musical background and past success with the band SAOCO, Dos Four continues to grow and deliver unforgettable performances.

This week, we’re celebrating the gripping energy of jazz as the Oaktown Jazz Workshops’ Performance Ensemble takes the stage with a dynamic group of young musicians aged 14-18. These talented students will perform a mix of jazz classics alongside professional master musicians and alumni youth mentors. With performance at the core of their training, Oaktown Jazz Workshops is preserving the jazz tradition and elevating the next generation of professional musicians, educators, and culture bearers.

OMCA is proud to host a 星期五 Night rooted in the spirit of reparations and African liberation in collaboration with the Brotherhood of Elders Network’s Bese Saka Initiative, East Bay Community Foundation’s ASCEND: BLO, The San Francisco Foundation, Spearitwurx, and the Sara Webster Fabio Center for Social Justice.

This 星期五, BULULÚ brings the heat with high-energy Latin dance music, blending Caribbean beats that will keep you moving all night. To get you into the groove, Andreina Febres-Cordero from Making Waves Studios will lead an engaging, interactive dance session, teaching fun moves to match the rhythm and flavor of the night.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of rhythm, soul, and global sound at OMCA’s 星期五 Nights! This 星期五, THE WHOADEES will take the stage with their unique fusion of hip-hop, soul, and blues, creating a vibrant gumbo of styles and sounds from around the world. Staying true to their Bay Area roots, these five funky brothers will fill the air with soulful tunes that will have you dancing or simply closing your eyes to immerse yourself in their deep grooves.

星期五 Nights at OMCA honors Pride Month with a vibrant celebration of culture, identity, and rhythm! Feel the pulse of Puerto Rico with Aguacero, an intergenerational ensemble bringing Bomba to life through percussion, dance, and song. Blending traditional and original compositions, their performance tells powerful Afro-Caribbean stories and invites all ages to join the rhythm through call and response, movement, and music.

Get ready to hit the dance floor as Discos Resaca Collective brings their signature Bay Area West Coast Cumbia sound to life. Featuring Mariposas del Alma’s soulful harmonies and Deuce Eclipse’s legendary rhymes, their high-octane set blends heavy percussion and soaring accordion riffs for an unforgettable live performance.
