星期四 After Hours at OMCA | Reclamation Through Musical  Expression: Banjo Tradition & Afro-Futures from West Africa to Oakland with Hannah Mayree

Liven up your 星期四 night with a rooted and participatory performance by Hanna Mayree (they/them). A member of the Black Banjo Reclamation Project, Hannah shares original and traditional banjo compositions as well as harmonies through acoustic live vocal looping. Their art is a reminder of the power found in our relationship to the earth, music, and community and is an invitation to listen, learn, and sing together through various musical landscapes.

Kick off the first 星期五 Nights at OMCA of the season with the whole fam! Enjoy a rhythmic night full of feel-good music for all ages! Dos Four pulls from a blend of Caribbean and Afro-Latin sounds like Salsa, Cumbia, Salsa Choque, Latino House and more that will be  sure to get you moving.

星期五 Nights at OMCA keeps going strong with another 星期五 of music and community! Get further inspired with the dance movements of Shadji Simone Correia whose unique style of performance movement draws audiences in to react and to create a collaborative experience between art, audience, and performer. The night will be further fortified with a feel-good set from DJ Benet.

Experience 星期四 After Hours at OMCA – your weekly night out at the Museum rich with cocktails, culture, and community. Mingle at Town Fare Cafe by Chef Michele McQueen, where you can enjoy drinks and light bites against a backdrop of music, or explore the galleries  which come alive at night with a mix of pop-up performances, chats, live drawings, and more–  just for adults!

Gather with family, friends, and community every 星期五 5—9 pm for live music, hands-on activities, Off the Grid (OTG) food trucks, and late-night access to our galleries and special exhibitions, with a Museum ticket.
