Friday Nights at OMCA is turning up the energy with a night full of music, movement, and rhythm you won’t want to miss! Get ready to hit the dance floor as Discos Resaca Collective brings their signature Bay Area West Coast Cumbia sound to life. Featuring Mariposas Del Alma’s soulful harmonies and Deuce Eclipse’s legendary rhymes, their high-octane set blends heavy percussion and soaring accordion riffs for an unforgettable live performance.

Kick things off with a Cumbia Dance Lesson led by Mireille Ruiz, who will guide participants through Cumbia’s roots and rhythms. From footwork and connection exercises to leading, following, and partnerwork combinations, this interactive session is perfect for dancers of all levels.

Keep the party going as Koma-T takes over with a genre-blending DJ set rooted in deep percussion and global rhythms. Mixing Afrohouse, Hip-hop, R&B, Amapiano, Funk, Reggaeton, Bhangra, and Disco, their sound is designed to move bodies and elevate the vibe all night long.

Friday Nights at OMCA also offer guests a well-rounded gallery experience with Gallery Chats. Unlike the traditional museum tour, Gallery Chats invites visitors to chat, ask questions, and connect with our OMCA facilitators who combine content knowledge with lived experience to encourage meaningful dialogue and fresh interpretations of our exhibitions.

With something for everyone—dance, music, and creative activities—it’s a night you won’t want to miss! Join us at OMCA for an unforgettable evening of culture, creativity, and community.
