Public Programs
Cultural Celebrations, Friday Nights, Thursday After Hours, Spotlight Sundays and so much more!
OMCA puts on many public programs throughout the year that depend on volunteer support to help us uplift and nurture our deep ties to the community.
Cultural Celebrations
Every year OMCA hosts two large cultural celebrations: Día de Los Muertos and Lunar New Year. These are events where we need and welcome volunteer support in all areas including decorating, AM set-up, kids activities, artist support, facilities backup and more!
Friday Nights @OMCA (April-Oct)
This exciting weekly event includes live music, hands-on activities, Off the Grid (OTG) food trucks, and late-night access to our galleries and special exhibitions.
Volunteer roles involve visitor and performers engagement, welcoming and way finding, day of event support, set up, breakdown and more!
Thursday After Hours (Jan-March)
During the winter months, Thursday After Hours invites adults 18 and over to come and enjoy their evening at OMCA with cocktails, pop-up performances, live figure drawing, and interactive experiences.
Volunteer roles involve visitor and performers engagement, welcoming and way finding, day of event support, set up, breakdown and more!
Spotlight Sundays
Spotlight Sundays take a deep dive into topics generated by California culture-makers. From performances, to provocative discussions, to films, workshops, and more Spotlight Sundays offers opportunities to engage with the people and ideas that drive and shape California and beyond.
Volunteer roles for this monthly event focus on providing support to artists, performers, visitors and ticketing.
