Protect Oakland Museum of California!

We need your help!

Oakland Museum of California is an integral part of our Oakland community. Alongside our fellow organizations Chabot Space & Science Center and Children’s Fairyland, OMCA is an affordable, local, recreational, cultural, and educational resource providing enriching and engaging educational programming to nearly 220,000 local youth & students each year.

But as our exhibits and interactive displays age, we no longer have the funding to ensure continued valuable experiences for children of all ages, including interactive hands-on-learning opportunities, multimedia exhibits, and state-of-the-art programming.

That’s why we need YOU! The Oakland City Council may soon be considering our request to place a ballot measure to provide the funding OMCA desperately needs to continue:

Providing local children with hands-on learning opportunities

Maintaining and improving educational programming and training for teachers to help them expand hands-on-learning opportunities in science, technology, art, history, and culture

Expanding opportunities for low-income families and residents to visit Children’s Fairyland, Chabot Space & Science Center, and the Oakland Museum of California for free

The City Council will be considering our request as early as May 30 with continued deliberations through June. Please sign up for updates so we can keep you informed about how you can help Children’s Fairyland, Chabot Space & Science Center, and the Oakland Museum of California thrive.
