What’s your Oakland Story?

Create your own map to help us build our Atlas of Oakland.

by OMCA

An atlas is a collection of maps that gives us a more complete picture of a place. Inside our special exhibition, You Are Here: California Stories on the Map, there’s a space to create a map of your Oakland, which will be added to our growing Atlas of Oakland.

As we #MuseumFromHome, we’re bringing our Atlas of Oakland project to you!

Show us your favorite places in Oakland or  your favorite memories you’ve made here. Once you’re finished making your custom Oakland map, share it with us for a chance to have your map shared on OMCA's social media!

Directions

  1. Download the Atlas of Oakland template map below. You can print it if you have access to a printer, or use it as inspiration and make your own.
  2. What’s your Oakland Story? Use points, lines, colors, and symbols to create your personal map of Oakland.
  3. Pass it along and share with us, your friends, family, or anyone currently learning at home. Want a chance for your map to be featured on our social media channels? Tag us @oaklandmuseumca in your creations on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook!
