55th Annual White Elephant Sale Returns to Oakland March 1 & 2, 2014

(Oakland, CA)The White Elephant Sale (WES)—Northern California’s largest and most popular rummage sale—celebrates 55 years of supporting the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) when the legendary sale returns to the San Francisco Bay Area on March 1 and 2, 2014. Sale hours are 10 am to 4 pm both days, and admission is free. Organized and presented by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, the Sale benefits OMCA.

The Preview Sale, a must for serious shoppers, is Sunday, January 26, 10 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased with a mail-in form (download at WhiteElephantSale.org). While supplies last and through January 25, the OMCA Store will sell tickets during regular Museum hours. On the day of the Preview Sale, tickets are available at the door for $20. Children under 12 are admitted free but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Held in a 96,000 square-foot warehouse located at 333 Lancaster St. (at Glascock), in Oakland, the Sale is organized into 17 unique departments that feature quality used items, including vintage clothing, fine jewelry, collectibles, tools, furniture, sporting goods, and more. Free shuttle service is provided from the Fruitvale BART to the warehouse on Sale and Preview Sale days.
