Oakland Strong
February 1–April 2, 2017

"My goal in wearing these shoes was to not only honor the victims that lost their lives that night, but also to raise awareness for the relief efforts that are underway. Hopefully through this auction we can help further assist with those efforts.” —Steph Curry, Point Guard for the Golden State Warriors

Get up close with three pairs of sneakers in a new display that embodies the spirit of Oakland Strong. Worn by Steph Curry, NBA All Star and point guard for the Golden State Warriors, and on loan from an anonymous collector, each pair of these shoes comes to OMCA with a different story. View two different pairs of customized Under Armour Curry 3s, auctioned to benefit the Oakland Fire Relief fund for the families of the 36 community members who lost their lives in the Ghost Ship fire. Check out the pair of Curry 1 sneakers worn by Curry himself at Game 1 of the Western Conference Semi-Final Playoffs in 2015, the year the Warriors won their championship. Embrace the message of generosity and endurance in these shoes and reflect on your own connection to the community and how you help to make Oakland Strong.
