They are longtime Oakland residents with unique first-generation immigrant backgrounds and have a strong vision rooted in both the recognition of Oakland’s rich diverse cultural history as well as a desire to move the conversation around arts and music. \n\n\n\nAfrobeats Oakland is actively reimagining the African + African-American identity within the US. AshEL Seasunz has been working intentionally with various shamanic healing practices and music since 2005. His music groups include hip hop based RebelWise\, Sage & Cedar\, and Dogon Lights.
