Friday Nights at OMCA

Get your Oakland groove on at Friday Nights at OMCA with after-hours Museum access, Off the Grid food trucks, beer, wine, music, and more! 

Ready for bigger and better Friday nights fun? OMCA is making some improvements to its campus to create an even more vibrant Friday Nights at OMCA experience, including a brand-new Garden stage for even more outdoor performances! In the interim, OMCA’s Gardens and 10th Street Amphitheater are currently closed. Enjoy your favorite Friday Nights activities in Oak Street Plaza and throughout campus.

  • After-hours gallery access.
  • Marketplace at OMCA: local makers selling handcrafted works and art.
  • Music, DJs, acoustic sets, and dance lessons.
  • A rotating list of Off The Grid food trucks and featured artists.
  • Family fun at Friday Nights: every Friday night, from 5 to 8 pm, features free hands-on art workshops for all ages, and select Fridays feature storytime with the Oakland Public Library from 6 to 6:30 pm.

How to get here: OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station.

Parking: Event parking is available at the Museum Garage, with a $7 flat fee starting at 5 pm. The Museum garage closes at 10 pm. More information is available on our Directions page.

Garden Access: OMCA's Gardens are currently closed for renovations. Click here for more information on the upcoming changes to OMCA's campus.

Outside Drinks: No outside alcoholic drinks permitted. Enjoy drinks at the Blue Oak bars.

Marketplace at OMCA: The Marketplace at OMCA is on hold during renovations.
