DESCRIPTION:Friday Nights at OMCA\nSpecial Members Lounge\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReconnect with family\, friends\, and community at OMCA every Friday night. These free events provide a gathering place to come together each week\, including live music\, hands-on activities\, Off the Grid food trucks\, and the newly-launched Town Fare sun deck\, featuring an outdoor bar and select bar bites from the cafe menu. Take advantage of late-night access to our galleries and special exhibitions with a Museum ticket\, or bring a blanket and lounge in our garden\, now open with direct access to Lake Merritt. \n\n\n\nInspired by the community’s stories of resilience and reconnection over the past two years\, Friday Nights at OMCA has been reimagined as a more intimate experience where visitors can break bread and enjoy weekly programming that dives deeper into themes that drive OMCA’s mission like community\, belonging\, and connection. \n\n\n\nFriday\, Sept. 23\, 5–9 pm\n\n\n\nSeptember Off The Grid mobile food creator lineupCurveball Sliders\, Cool!naria\, Caribbean Spices\, Southern Comfort Kitchen\, Curry Up Now\, Golden Gate Gyro\, and Momolicious. \n\n\n\nLine-up: \n\n\n\n6–6:30 pm –  Dance Class: Merengue\, Salsa\, Bachata (Garden) \n\n\n\n6–8 pm – DJ Ron Reeser (Amphitheater)7–7:05 pm – Collective Scream to empty our minds and body of what we want to release7:05–7:15 pm – Mamá Agua Ritual to connect with water and body7:15–8 pm –  Music with dance performance (Garden) \n\n\n\nChoreographer Juliana Mendonca brings to Friday Nights at OMCA a vibrant Latin dance class\, where visitors can  learn the basic steps of merengue\, bachata\, and salsa. Afterwards\, the public will be guided through a ritual of liberation and connection with water\, ending with a special performance by guitarist Carlos Caminos and Gary Muszynski on percussion.
