DESCRIPTION:Member Bonus Reciprocity Weekend with Gardens of Golden Gate Park\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOMCA staff is teaming up with other Oakland nature centers and groups to organize a community science event where the public helps to document the biodiversity of Lake Merritt.  \n\n\n\nThe free event is part of the City Nature Challenge\, a friendly global competition to see which cities can get the most observations of wildlife! Help the SF Bay Area win! \n\n\n\nIt is free to sign up! \n\n\n\n\nSign up\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout City Nature Challenge\n\n\n\nThe City Nature Challenge has the goal of documenting as much biodiversity in an area as possible. During this event\, come learn about the thousands of organisms that call this place home and help document them as part of the City Nature Challenge. Local naturalists will be on hand to help you find and identify organisms. Bring your smart phone pre-loaded with the iNaturalist app\, food for lunch\, and any tools that you think will help you find organisms. There will be stations around the lake focusing on different habitats\, organisms and some short guided walks with experts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nReturn to Events
