DESCRIPTION:Friday Nights at OMCA with The Whoadees and Special Guests\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClose out Women’s History Month with a conversation on fem gender identity and a DJ lineup curated by the A.B.L.U.N.T Collective at OMCA. \n\n\n\nProgram Schedule:  \n\n\n\n5–8 pm  – Off the Grid Service \n\n\n\n5–5:50 pm  – DJ BLACK (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\n5:50–6 pm –  Performance by Flavia (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\n6–6:45 pm  – DJ Fiera (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\n7–7:05 pm  – Opening poem by Vision  (James Moore Theater) \n\n\n\n7:05–7:55 pm  – Weaving The Possible Futures Panel Conversation (James Moore Theater) \n\n\n\n7:55–8 pm  – Closing poem by Vision (James Moore Theater) \n\n\n\n7–8:50 pm  – DJ KINGBOO B2B MADRE GUI (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\nJoin us at OMCA to learn from the experiences of women and the projects they invest their energy in. Starting at 5 pm\, commune with the panelists in discussion about how women’s efforts uplift other women in their communities and beyond\, weaving new patterns to new futures to access resources for all women to empower us in this life. \n\n\n\n“We\, in our communities\, continue to demand equity and safety from the violence of capitalism\, white supremacy and patriarchy and when we are not heard\, we come together to create our own tapestries of safety.” \n\n\n\nPanelists: Shanette\, Amelian\, Jade\, Women’s Freedom Center and Alita (moderator). \n\n\n\nEnjoy music by a DJ lineup curated by the A.B.L.U.N.T Collective throughout the night from 5 to 9 pm.  \n\n\n\nAbout the A.B.L.U.N.T. Collective\n\n\n\nClub A.B.L.U.N.T. started in 1993 by a group of queer women of color in San Francisco. A.B.L.U.N.T. stood for Asians Blacks Latinas Uniting New Tribes. We are back this year with a new formation. The new generation of A.B.L.U.N.T. (Asians Blacks Latinx Uniting with Native Tribes) is committed to growth and learning within ourselves and our community. We are utilizing our platforms to amplify voices that are not being heard and organizing events in the community. \n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nThe Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is committed to providing programs that are accessible\, welcoming\, and inclusive of our community. Assistive listening devices and wheelchairs are available for checkout on a first come\, first served basis at the Ticketing Desk.
