DESCRIPTION:POSTPONED—Friday Nights at OMCASpecial Members Lounge\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOMCA is excited to celebrate teachers during our annual Spring Teacher Night\, an evening for teachers to feel inspired and celebrated while enjoying the exciting energy of Friday Nights at OMCA—all with complimentary Museum access. \n\n\n\nDuring a fun and fast-paced curriculum slam\, learn how OMCA’s Teacher Fellows created gallery and classroom lesson plans that explore art as a tool for social and political engagement. Discover fresh ideas as you hear about what the Fellows prototyped with their students and what they learned along the way. \n\n\n\nWhile you’re here\, explore the diverse voices of California’s Indigenous peoples in Born of the Bear Dance: Dugan Aguilar’s Photographs of Native California\, feel the vibrancy of fashion and family histories in Ancestral Visions: An Installation by Chelsea Ryoko Wong\, and preview the new installation on student activism at San Francisco State University in Students on Strike. Printed resource guides will be available to help teachers enhance the gallery learning experience for their students.  \n\n\n\nThe evening includes late-night access to OMCA galleries and a lively atmosphere\, featuring music and delicious bites from Off the Grid food trucks. \n\n\n\nBring your team! This event is free for teachers and chaperones\, with no RSVP required. Jaymeebaaby is set to complement the vibrations with a DJ set packed with high-energy tracks and good vibes. From throwbacks to fresh hits\, she’ll be spinning a little bit of everything to keep the dance floor alive and buzzing. \n\n\n\nGet ready to groove with Alice Park this Friday Night with a beginner-friendly K-pop dance lesson! Known for its energetic choreography and catchy tunes\, K-pop has taken the world by storm. After grabbing a meal from a wide and weekly changing menu of culinary creations\, head to the OMCA Garden where you’ll find picnic tables and blankets to enjoy your local eats. Play lawn and table games\, enjoy weekly rotating Museum programming\, and create new memories at one of the Town’s most treasured spaces right in the heart of Oakland. \n\n\n\nNo outside alcohol permitted. Add all of this to her theatre-based style in writing and production\, and listeners are in for an experience filled with “so much nostalgia and new school style” (Sam Morrison\, Early Rising). \nTyler Lauren premiered her debut single “annie” on 106.1 KMEL with Golden State Warriors DJ D-Sharp and has since garnered attention from platforms like Sway’s Universe\, Lyrical Lemonade\, and Spotify. She’s also opened for Justin Nozuka and Clay\, and has played at the Golden State Valkyries Block Party\, Hiero Day\, and California’s Pista Sa Nayon Festival (co-headliner). \n\n				\n				\n            \n\n        \n\n    \n	\n        \n            \n\n			\n            \n				\n				                    About Jaymeebaaby\n				\n				                    Born and raised in the Bay Area\, Jaymeebaaby began her DJ career in 2021 and has quickly gained momentum\, earning bookings at major venues across the Bay Area and beyond. Her talent has led to opportunities in professional sports\, with notable companies\, and even with local radio stations. In 2023\, she was the tournament DJ for the LPGA International Crown and DJed for the Oakland Athletics. Currently\, she’s a mixshow DJ for The Bay’s Hit Radio Station 99.7NOW (KMVQ) on Saturday nights. \n\n				\n				\n            \n\n        \n\n    \n	\n        \n            \n\n			\n            \n				\n				                    About Alice Park\n				\n				                    Alice Park has been teaching her interpretation of official K-pop choreography since 2022 at various Bay Area dance studios\, including City Dance\, In the Groove Studios\, and Enjoy Dance Studio.
