DESCRIPTION:Friday Nights at OMCA\nSpecial Members Lounge\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDuring Oakland Restaurant Week from March 16 through 26\, Town Fare Cafe is offering a special $25 menu in addition to the regular menu items. Visit Town Fare Cafe during Oakland Restaurant Week between 11 am to 5 pm to try the two special menus: \n\n\n\n\nA Taste of the South (Southern fried chicken\, braised collard greens\, mac and cheese\, honey cornbread)\n\n\n\nNew Orleans chicken\, andouille sausage and shrimp gumbo.\n\n\n\n\nBoth menus come with a glass of sweet tea and a peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert! \n\n\n\n*Town Fare is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. \n\n\n\n\nMORE ON TOWN FARE\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oakland Restaurant Week 2023\n\n\n\nFrom neighborhood gems and food trucks to Michelin star restaurants\, “Feast Your Way Through the East Bay” during the 10 days of Oakland Restaurant Week 2023. Participating restaurants offer specially-created lunch and dinner menus to showcase the diverse culture and cuisine of this incredibly dynamic city.The community and fabric of Oakland is made up of culturally-distinct neighborhoods\, inspiring an incredibly creative food scene of unexpected pairings and fusion-style flavors. DESCRIPTION:Friday Nights at OMCA\nSpecial Members Lounge\n\n        \n    \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a healing music performance by Alexandra the Author in the Amphitheater. \n\n\n\nProgram Schedule:  \n\n\n\n5–8 pm  – Off the Grid Service \n\n\n\n6–7  pm  – Live music performance by Alexandra the Author (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\n7– 9 pm  – Music by DJ Durt (Amphitheater) \n\n\n\nEnjoy an experience of sound vibrations and classical storytelling by Alexandra the Author at OMCA. Alexandra uses her love of the arts\, awareness of healing\, mental health\, passion for sound singing and her fire for human rights to pursue her line of work. Her music purposely emotes soothing vibes and power. From finger snaps to piano taps\, this artist mixes together soul\, R&B\, folk\, classical piano and hip hop for a healing musical experience.  \n\n\n\nFollowing their performance\, enjoy music by DJ Durt 7 to 9 pm.  \n\n\n\nAbout Alexandra the Author\n\n\n\nAlexandra Henry known on stage as Alexandra The Author is a musical rarity in motion from Upstate NY\, currently living in Santa Cruz. As an ear trained instrumentalist and vocalist\, she’s deeply inspired by many different genres of music. Alexandra uses her love of the arts\, awareness of healing\, mental health\, passion for sound singing and her fire for human rights to pursue her line of work. Using her synesthesia/ ADHD & PTSD creates a full story book to dive into when she brings her music to life. Her music purposely emotes soothing healing vibes and power. Her highest hope is just to be able to bring a brand new perspective forward in the hopes of helping heal for everyone. She’s currently in the studio working on her fourth album to be dropped in 2024. The final piece to a 3 piece project Heavy. Heavy\, Chapter 1 is already out on all platforms and Chapter 2 drops this year. \n\n\n\nAbout DJ Durt\n\n\n\nDJ Durt is a queer party DJ with a love for creating femme and body-positive dance experiences. S/he is one of the founders and co-organizers of radical queer dance party “Ships in the Night.” Durt was born and raised in San Francisco and has been dj-ing for queers\, sex workers and anyone else who will listen for over 20 years. \n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nThe Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is committed to providing programs that are accessible\, welcoming\, and inclusive of our community.
