Come “geek out” at OMCA! November’s Geek Out program theme, “Above the Bay: The Horizon of Coastal Edges and the Baylands,” explores how the land around the Bay has changed over time and possible approaches to living in a future with higher shorelines and beach erosion. Join the following guest speakers for a thoughtful and lively discussion in the James Moore Theater:

  • Robin Grossinger, Senior Scientist and Director Resilient Landscapes Program, San Francisco Estuary Institute
  • John Gillis, Emeritus Professor of History, Rutgers University and author of The Human Shore: Seacoasts in History
  • Letitia Grenier, Lead Scientist, Baylands Goals Climate Change Update
  • Ben Grant, Public Realm and Urban Design Program Manager, SPUR

Each installment of this vibrant discussion series features a range of speakers from authors, filmmakers, and artists to exhibition partner organizations, scholars, and scientists. Go on a deeper exploration of issues explored in the exhibition Above and Below: Stories From Our Changing Bay. This lecture series will include pre- and post-lecture activities such as film screenings, music performances and book signings. Stay tuned for more guest speakers!

Come early and enjoy Bay Brunches at the Museum in the Blue Oak café, with a special themed menu and live music!
