No reservation needed. \n\n\n\nGallery Activation Hour puts a twist on the traditional museum tour. Using an informal approach\, OMCA facilitators combine content knowledge with lived experience. Centering community voice and encouraging dialogue in our galleries provides meaningful and fresh interpretations of our Special Exhibitions. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nGET TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Gallery Activation Hour\n\n\n\nEnjoy talking about Museum exhibition themes and exploring how they relate to your life? Join us for Gallery Activation Hour\, an informal drop-in experience\, every Saturday from 1 to 2pm in OMCA’s Great Hall.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, on the first Wednesday of every month from 12 to 1 pm\, visitors have the opportunity to meet artists featured in Into the Brightness during our Special Edition Gallery Activation Hour. \n\n\n\nGallery Activation Hour and the Special Edition Gallery Activation Hour allow visitors to spend time with our enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteer Gallery Activation facilitators and Into the Brightness artists who will generate conversations and engagement throughout the hour\, reimagining how we activate our galleries. \n\n\n\nOccasionally Gallery Activation Hour will be hosted by a  special guest facilitator.Our current Great Hall exhibition is Into the Brightness: Artists from Creative Growth\, Creativity Explored & NIAD. Reservations are not required\, but non-members will need to purchase a special exhibition ticket to see the exhibit. \n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nThe Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is committed to providing programs that are accessible\, welcoming\, and inclusive of our community. Join us in the OMCA Garden for one night only featuring top comedians Marc Yaffee\, Siena East\, headliner Tatanka Means\, and host Jackie Keliiaa. Tickets priced $1–$25. \n\n\n\n\nMEMBER TICKETS\n\n\n\nGeneral Tickets\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 6 pm with lawn seating on a first-come first-serve basis. Grab your favorite picnic blanket\, and arrive early to enjoy music\, dine on food by Wahpepah’s Kitchen\, shop at the Native artisan market\, and meet and greet headliner\, Tatanka Means. Guests are welcome to bring their own food. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
