Her album Hold That Spirit explores themes of self-investment\, joy\, and the female experience. The album’s feminist undercurrent is evident in songs like “Strong Woman\,” which celebrates female strength\, and “Not A Monster\,” which candidly addresses Zaragoza’s personal struggles. She collaborated exclusively with female artists on the album\, aiming to create a communal\, emotionally safe space to process her breakup and make honest art about her life. Zaragoza also hopes to provide visibility for Indigenous artists and foster a sense of community through her music. In addition to her music\, Zaragoza is a songwriter for Netflix’s animated children’s series Spirit Rangers and has just finished touring nationally in the reimagined Broadway production of Peter Pan\, bringing representation and a fresh perspective to the classic story. \n\n				\n				\n            \n\n        \n\n    \n	\n        \n            \n\n			\n            \n				\n				                    About Tomiko Iyalla\n				\n				                    Tomiko is a Nigerian American multidisciplinary artist whose primary work and emphasis is teaching Afro Dance. Art supplies and clipboards will be available for use\, and your artwork will be yours to take home or exchange with others. Equally at home in jazz\, blues\, R&B\, gospel\, funk\, Latin\, and Hip-Hop\, she has developed her own authentic sound and unique delivery\, delighting audiences young and old across the globe. After beginning her career in gospel music\, Faye Carol made her name singing with Oakland blues and funk legend Johnny Talbot & De Thangs before forming her own trio and gaining fame in San Francisco’s jazz\, blues\, and cabaret clubs of the 1970s and ‘80s. With an over 60-year career in music\, this living legend has developed her own unique acoustic sound and style in Black Music. Drawing from funk\, blues\, gospel\, and straight-ahead swingin’\, she has cultivated an audience that remains as diverse as her uplifting music. She has shared the stage with icons such as Marvin Gaye\, Ray Charles\, Albert King\, Robert Randolph\, Ledisi\, Sister Rosetta Tharpe\, Sun Ra\, Pharoah Sanders\, Mistah F.A.B.\, Buster Williams\, Bernard Purdie\, and Pete Escovedo. Rojai\, a seasoned artist\, does what he does best by channeling a sixth sense that only he holds\, to move crowds with consistent passion\, energy\, and emotion. Teaming up with some of the best producers locally and worldwide\, Rojai puts forth melodies\, lyrics\, and compositions that carry inherent respect for the funk and soul greats that inspired his craft. \n\n				\n				\n            \n\n        \n\n    \n	\n        \n            \n\n			\n            \n				\n				                    About Sara Templeton\n				\n				                    Sara is a San Francisco-based choreographer\, teacher\, and dancer. She started her professional career as a Hip-Hop dancer and later expanded her expertise to include modern\, ballet\, Dunham technique\, and the dance forms associated with her Puerto Rican heritage. Sara has choreographed for both stage and film and currently teaches at studios around the Bay Area. \n\n				\n				\n            \n\n        \n\n    \n	\n        \n            \n\n			\n            \n				\n				                    About Yuca Frita\n				\n				                    Yuca Frita is a Bay Area-born Peruvian American DJ whose high-energy and percussive genre-blending sets synthesize Latin\, Afro-Caribbean\, and club rhythms. Her sound has been described as a “rowdy\, leftfield approach to reggaeton and dembow” (Resident Advisor). Mixing rambunctious edits with both well-known and deep cuts\, she plays in service to the hype\, with the intention to keep dancers moving and pay homage to the club sounds of the Global South.
