Delight in a festive Malaysian 24 Seasons drum performance, Red Panda Acrobats with special artist the plate spinner, Martial Arts by the Ernie Reyes World Action Team, Chinese yo-yo demonstrations, tai chi, and a brilliant display of Japanese Sogetsu Ikebana flower arrangements.

Learn the viral dance hit “Gangnam Style” with UC Berkeley’s Korean Performance Group. Performances include dazzling illusions by The Magic of Jade, stunning Balinese dancers, music by the Oakland Youth Orchestra String Quartet, and fun sing-a-long songs in English, Mandarin, and Spanish with Miss Janet the Planet and Uncle Charlie.

Join in the hands-on activities throughout the Museum by making your own Tibetan prayer flags and crafting New Year “lucky money” red envelopes to take home. Learn how to make Vietnamese spring rolls, have your face painted by Chinese Opera artists, and play mahjong with Sara Levy Linden. The celebration will close with a fiery dragon dance!

Treat the family and discover the diversity of Asian New Year traditions practiced across the globe!
