Member Premiere Weekend

Friday, June 11–Sunday, June 13, 11 am–5 pm
Friday, June 11, 2021 - 11:00am

The moment has finally arrived for us to welcome you back to our campus and galleries and we can't wait to see you! To celebrate our re-opening, we are hosting a Members-only weekend from June 11–13. Become a Member and get first access to OMCA’s newly-renovated garden and Galleries of California Art, History, and Natural Sciences.

As part of our ongoing “Art For the Movement” collaboration with the Black Cultural Zone, Oakland Art Murmur, and other local organizations, OMCA will host the creation of a mural by a collective of five Black artists over our re-opening weekends, June 11–13 (Members Premiere) and June 18–20 (free community weekend).

Artists DeVonte Brooks, Deana Brownfield, Malik Byers, Lauryn Marshall, and Refa One will be creating the mural onsite in OMCA’s garden, where visitors can watch the artists as they create. The artwork will be installed at a later date in a location selected by the artists in a predominantly Black neighborhood, as they explain "aligning in the spirit of Juneteenth, Black self-determination, and preserving Black Futures."

Due to capacity constraints, we encourage Members to reserve tickets in advance to ensure entrance upon arrival.
