Made by a feminist filmmakers’ collective, this interview-based documentary shines a light on lesbian mothers in Los Angeles and the Bay Area facing custody battles.

The 1977 documentary Word Is Out: Stories of Some of Our Lives presented interviews with a select group of lesbians and gay men. The seldom-seen footage presented here includes interviews of individuals who weren’t presented in the final project.
