Jumpstart your weekend with Friday Nights at OMCA! Enjoy a picnic in the garden, live music, hands-on art activities, and after-hours gallery access until 10 pm. Grab a bite at the Off the Grid food truck market and enjoy a lineup of live music and dance from local performers. Bring friends and family for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California every Friday Night!

Late Night Gallery Hours

5–10 pm: Galleries Open Late
Explore the Museum’s 110,000 square feet of gallery space until 10 pm, including hands-on exhibitions with interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy.

7:30–9 pm: Queer California Film Series
Join us for special late-night screenings of rare films exploring untold stories of California’s LGBTQ+ communities, in conjunction with special exhibition Queer California: Untold Stories. Check the schedule here for tonight’s showtimes and film descriptions.

Included with Museum special exhibition admission. There is an additional $5 charge for special exhibition Queer California: Untold Stories

7:30–7:45 pm: Snack-Sized Docent Tour
Visit the Ticketing Desk on Level 2 to discover the meeting location.
Join a lively fifteen-minute mini-tour led by a talented OMCA Docent with a surprise theme each time. Included with Museum admission.

Family Activities

5–8 pm: Rainbow Wand Making
Gardens
Create your own magical rainbow wand inspired by Queer California: Untold Stories, on view in the Great Hall through August 2019.

6–7 pm: Queer California Drag Family Storytime
Great Hall
Hip-Hop drag troupe Momma’s Boyz Entertainment will be reading a few charming children's books during this special edition of Family Storytime. Program participants will enjoy treats, face-painting, a rainbow flag art activity, and wrap up with a mini parade.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for Members. Ticket does not include gallery admission.

5–10 pm: Off the Grid Food Trucks

Enjoy a rotating lineup of local gourmet food trucks from Off the Grid.

5–9:30 pm: Blue Oak Beer Garden

Enjoy beer and wine specials from local makers.

Kick back and relax with seating available on 10th Street, the 10th Street Amphitheater, Oak Street Plaza, the OMCA Gardens or café patio.

Directions

OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station. Event parking is available at the Museum for a $7 flat fee after 5 pm. Museum garage closes at 11 pm.

Food and drink are not allowed inside the galleries unless otherwise designated.
