Close out the Summer Season of Friday Nights @ OMCA with a special Thriller Night! This annual event includes Michael Jackson’s Thriller video dance class that all can groove to. Plus, enjoy late-night Museum access, Off the Grid food trucks, beer, wine, music, and more.

Late Night Gallery Hours

5–10 pm: Galleries Open Late
Enjoy after-hours gallery access until 10 pm. Ages 18 and under are always free on Friday Nights @ OMCA.

7:30–7:45 pm: Snack-Sized Docent Tour
Visit Ticketing Desk on 2nd level to discover meeting location
A fifteen-minute mini-tour led by a talented OMCA Docent with a surprise theme each time. Included with Museum admission.

In conjunction with For Freedom's 50 State Initiative, Friday Night @ OMCA will be hosting a free poster-making workshop. Create posters declaring your definition of freedom and share your ideas with friends and family. Join in while supplies last.

5–7:30 pm: Family Reading Time with the Oakland Public Library
California Room
Explore a selection of favorite books—provided by the OPL’s bike-powered book-mobile—then curl up and read together. Follow the bike library on Twitter @OPLBikeLibrary
6–6:30 pm: OMCA Family Story Time with the Oakland Public Library
Learning Center
Join our friends at the Oakland Public Library for family-friendly story time with stories, songs, and rhymes.


Local Food and Drink

5–10 pm: Off the Grid Food Trucks

Enjoy a rotating lineup of local gourmet food trucks from Off the Grid.

5–9:30 pm: Blue Oak Beer Garden
Enjoy beer and wine specials from local makers.

Kick back and relax with seating available on 10th Street (no alcoholic beverages allowed), the 10th Street Amphitheater, Oak Street Plaza, cafe patio, and the OMCA Gardens. To protect the Museum collections, food and drink are not allowed inside the galleries unless otherwise designated.

OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station. Event parking is available at the Museum for a $7 flat fee after 5 pm. Museum garage closes at 11 pm.
