The Summer Season of Friday Nights @ OMCA is back! That means the gardens are open for picnics, live music outside is back, gallery hours are open until 10 pm, and the Off the Grid food truck market expands onto Oak Street. Enjoy hands-on activities for kids and a lineup of live music and dance from local performers that changes weekly—all alongside your favorite food trucks from Off the Grid. Bring friends and family for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California every Friday Night!

Late Night Gallery Hours

5–10 pm: Galleries Open Late

A fifteen-minute mini-tour led by a talented OMCA Docent with a surprise theme each time. Included with Museum admission.

Every Friday during Friday Nights @ OMCA, a rotating list of guest DJs take over the Hip-Hop Dojo inside RESPECT: Hip-Hop Style & Wisdom to demonstrate live sets. Included with special exhibition Museum admission.

Live music from Fua Dia Congo with special guests & Gbedu Town Radio celebrating Africa Day

5–8 pm: Family-Friendly Drop-In Activity
Experience hands-on gold panning in the Museum gardens, where you’ll learn how to tell the difference between real gold & fool’s gold, and keep all you find! Suggested donation $5 per participant; does not include Museum admission.

Kick back and relax with seating available on 10th Street (no alcoholic beverages allowed), the 10th Street Amphitheater, Oak Street Plaza, and the OMCA Gardens. To protect the Museum collections, food and drink are not allowed inside the galleries unless otherwise designated.

Explore our weekly rotating market featuring local Bay Area artists, jewelers, and craftspeople.
Note: the Marketplace @ OMCA is now full and no longer accepting vendors for Friday, May 25, 2018.

Discover great California-themed gifts by local artisans, our broad book selection, find exhibition-themed favorites, and more. 




OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station. Event parking is available at the Museum for a $7 flat fee after 5 pm. Museum garage closes at 11 pm.
