Tonight, don’t miss our Acoustic Space Series with Haji Basim at 6:30 pm inside the OMCA galleries! Get cozy at OMCA with our Winter Season of Friday Nights @ OMCA, bringing you expanded DJ sets from the Bay Area’s finest and and a new monthly Acoustic Space Series featuring performing arts experiences inside the OMCA galleries tonight and on March 16, followed by live music outdoors every Friday starting on March 23 with the launch of our Summer Season.

Friday Nights @ OMCA is one of Oakland's favorite things to do and the only after-hours museum night paired with Off the Grid food trucks, bringing you the best of local cuisine along with music, dance, and the whole Museum open late. Enjoy hands-on activities for kids and a lineup of live music and dance from local performers that changes weekly. Bring friends and family for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California every Friday Night!

Gallery of California Natural Sciences
Our new monthly Acoustic Space Series featuring performing arts experiences inside the OMCA galleries. Tonight, join us in the Gallery of California Natural Sciences to experience Urban Folk and World music by Haji Basim in celebration of Black History Month. Haji Basim is an award-winning artist, multi-instrumentalist, yoga expert, and urban folk crooner who has performed at musical festivals all over the world. This multi-talented singer-songwriter plays the guitar, banjo, ukulele, and sitar (to name a few), and created his upbeat, signature genre of Urban Folk Music. Read the full description. Kick back and relax with seating available on 10th Street (no alcoholic beverages allowed), the 10th Street Amphitheater, and Oak Street Plaza. To protect the Museum collections, food and drink are not allowed inside the galleries unless otherwise designated. Please note the OMCA Gardens are closed during Friday Nights @ OMCA through March 2018.

OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station. Event parking is available at the Museum for a $7 flat fee after 5 pm. Museum garage closes at 10 pm.
