The Summer Season of Friday Nights @ OMCA is back! That means the gardens are open for picnics, live music outside is back, gallery hours are open until 10 pm, and the Off the Grid food truck market expands onto Oak Street. Enjoy half-price admission, hands-on activities for kids, and a lineup of live music and dance from local performers that changes weekly—all alongside your favorite food trucks from Off the Grid. Bring friends and family for a taste of local music, food, and culture at the Oakland Museum of California every Friday Night!

Late Night Gallery Hours

5–10 pm: Galleries Open Late
Admission is half-off for adults with an additional $4 charge for special exhibitions. Ages 18 and under are always free on Friday Nights @ OMCA.

6:30–8 pm: Plug ‘n’ Play
Great Hall, Level 2
Every Friday during Friday Nights @ OMCA, a rotating list of guest DJs take over the Hip-Hop Dojo inside RESPECT: Hip-Hop Style & Wisdom to demonstrate live sets. Included with special exhibition Museum admission.

6–8 pm: Music
Oak Street Plaza
Live music by El Trio Maravilloso de la Bahia.   

6:30–7 pm: Dance Instruction
10th Street Amphitheater
Join Ramón Ramos Alayo for a salsa dance showcase. Ramón Ramos Alayo is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and the founder and artistic director of the Alayo Dance Company and CubaCaribe. In 1990 he earned a Masters degree in contemporary and folkloric dance and dance education from the Havana's National School of Art. Ramon currently teaches Cuban popular dance, Afro-Cuban modern dance and children's movement at several local dance studios and schools, and is artistic director of Alayo Dance Company and CubaCaribe.

Live salsa music from Rumbache.

Kick back and relax with seating available on 10th Street (no alcoholic beverages allowed), the 10th Street Amphitheater, Oak Street Plaza, and the OMCA Gardens. To protect the Museum collections, food and drink are not allowed inside the galleries unless otherwise designated.

5–9:45 pm: CCA Made at the OMCA Store
Level 2
For one night only, purchase distinctive creations made by students and alumni of California College of the Arts (CCA). Discover one-of- a-kind ceramics, textiles, jewelry, prints, and paintings in CCA Made. For the third consecutive year, OMCA has offered this not-to-be-missed sale in partnership with CCA’s popular School to Market class, which helps emerging artisans find effective ways to produce, market, and sell their creations.




OMCA is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART Station. Event parking is available at the Museum for a $7 flat fee after 5 pm. Museum garage closes at 10 pm.
