(Not Your Typical) Teacher Lounge: Days of the Dead

For the first Teacher Lounge event of 20172018, join us for a deep dive into a Days of the Dead experience on Friday, October 20. Explore Metamorphosis & Migration: Days of the Dead on your own (galleries stay open til 10 pm), or participate in curator and artist-led talks. Try your hand at craft-time for grown-ups while sipping a cocktail. Like we said: This is not your typical Teacher’s Lounge.

4–7 pm: Enjoy drop-in art activities, complimentary tickets to Off the Grid food trucks and cash bars for the first 100 arrivals, a chance to enter a raffle to win prizes, free Museum admission including access to special exhibition Nature’s Gift: Humans, Friends & the Unknown, and a one-night only 10% discount on your OMCA Store purchases.

4:30–5:30 pm: Join a discussion with artist/activist, Favianna Rodriguez, and Days of the Dead Guest Curator, Evelyn Orantes, about the importance of integrating the arts in education.

7 pm: Take an exclusive exhibition tour of Metamorphosis & Migration: Days of the Dead with Guest Curator Evelyn Orantes.

During Friday Nights @ OMCA, from 5 to 10 pm, enjoy food trucks from Off the Grid, live music, family-friendly art activities, and more.
