OMCA joins museums worldwide in celebrating Art Museum Day! As the leading arts, history, and natural sciences museum focused entirely on California, OMCA offers special programming to celebrate all the ways to learn about our state.

Visit special exhibitions in all three galleries, including:

Don't miss special programs offered on Art Museum Day, including:

  • The first free Bike Tour of 2015, led by an adventurous OMCA Docent, leaving from the Museum at 10 am (no admission ticket required)
  • An Awesome Gold Panning Hoedown for families, featuring panning for real gold, square dancing, and a whiskey and lemonade bar in the Museum gardens from noon to 3 pm (separate ticket required)
  • OMCA Docent will offer a hands-on educational station about birds in the Redwood Burl area from 1:30 to 3:30 pm
  • Eye-opening Docent-led tours of the Gallery of California Art at 2 pm, and the Gallery of California History at 3 pm
  • Special spring Member sale in the OMCA Store, offering a total of 20% off most items
