Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Detour?

Detour produces GPS audio walks available in different iconic locations. Detours are narrated by locals who know the city best, and are infused with cinematic scoring and storytelling by some of the best writers and sound designers in the world. Taking a Detour is like walking around inside a movie.

Does the tour use up my data?

Nope! Just download the tour while connected to wifi before you begin and it will not use any cellular data.

How will I know where to go while on the Detour?

Never fear! Your narrator will automatically guide you as you walk, and will be very clear with directing you on where to turn next using directional language and landmarks. You won’t get lost… but you might lose yourself in the story!
