The Oakland Museum of California is recruiting volunteers to interact with visitors and lead tours for school groups, adults, and families in our Gallery of California Art. No previous experience required.
Training: August 17, 2016 through June 14, 2017, every Wednesday morning, 9:30–12:30

Becoming an OMCA volunteer is easy!
Volunteering at OMCA gives you a chance to get more involved with the museum you love. We are always recruiting enthusiastic volunteers to assist with events, office work, and more.
To become a volunteer, create an account on our Shiftboard. Once you have registered and your application has been approved, you will receive email notices of upcoming volunteer opportunities. Volunteers sign-up for shifts using the online Shiftboard Calendar. All training is done onsite on the day of your shift.
Info sessions are offered on a semi-quarterly basis. Sign up to be notified of the next session.
Commitment: 1 day
- Skilled at interacting with the public and staff, maintaining a courteous manner at all times,
- Access to email and a computer (All scheduling is done online; computer training is available at the Oakland Public Library)
- Ability to maintain a neat personal appearance and adhere to the preferred dress code (as stated in shift description).
