Sophia Hussain is the Oakland Museum of California's Community Storyteller. As a writer and an artist, she likes to report on art whenever possible. With OMCA Connect, Sophia is investigating how art informs community and seeks to highlight Oaklanders’ stories. In addition to writing for the OMCA, Sophia reports for the news site Oakland Local and assists the artist collective Futurefarmers. Sophia has worked with the Oakland youth entrepreneurship program Hack the Hood and written about the archaeology of fish sauce and the beef industry’s millennial marketing strategies for Meatpaper Magazine. She graduated from Wesleyan University with Honors in 2013.
