Programs for Visionary Donors

Thanks to people like you, we’ve started something big.

In 1969, the Oakland Museum of California was launched with a big idea: A great state deserves a great museum to chronicle its sweeping story. Ours is an epic tale best told through the wide-angle lens of art, history, and nature.

Today, the museum’s collections are internationally known. Our exhibitions make headlines. Our education programs shape the lives of more than 90,000 schoolkids every year. Our special events bring diverse groups of people together for activities and celebrations.

Thanks to the loyal and continued support of museum patrons, the Oakland Museum of California is able to flourish as an important community resource. If you haven’t joined our museum family yet, we hope you’ll do so now. Visionary museum supporters who annually donate $1,000 or more are invited into our Donor Forum, Curators Forum, or California Collectors Circle.

Being a museum donor means you’re part of an informed and committed group of individuals who make a real difference in the lives of Californians throughout the state. No other museum combines California’s art, history, and nature into one landmark facility, set in a beautiful urban garden.

Make some history of your own by joining the museum family or renewing your commitment today. Your support at one of our Visionary Donor levels will ensure that California’s grand and growing legacy will be on view today, tomorrow, and for future generations. For more information on the Donor Forum, Curators Forum or California Collectors Circle please contact Camille Guimaraes, Donor Relations Coordinator at cguimaraes@museumca.org or 510 238 7425..

Heritage Society
Heritage Society is the Oakland Museum of California’s donor circle for those who have made a planned gift to the museum. This may include making a bequest in a will or living trust, naming the museum as beneficiary of retirement or life insurance plans, or choosing a giving opportunity that provides an income for the donor. Heritage Society members are recognized in the Annual Report and Donor Wall and invited to special events throughout the year. For more information on Planned Giving and the Oakland Museum’s Heritage Society, please contact Linda Larkin, Associate Director of Development at lalarkin@museumca.org or 510 238 2918.

Please let us know if the museum is in your estate plans. We want to thank you and include you in our Heritage Society events. We will respect your anonymity if that is your preference.
