Summer Reading Celebration
Enjoy a free day at OMCA at the annual Summer Reading Celebration with the Oakland Public Library. Held on the first Sunday in August every year, in OMCA’s lush gardens, this event celebrates the culmination of the Library’s Summer Reading Program with activities, games, and free admission to all. The day’s events range from magic shows to live music, bouncy houses to face painting, petting zoos to arts-and-crafts. A closing ceremony honors all the children who have completed the Summer Reading Program with a special certificate of achievement. The celebration offers fun ways to learn and celebrate a love of reading.
Presented in partnership with the Oakland Public Library and City of Oakland Parks and Recreation. OMCA Family is made possible in part by generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
