Disco Heaven
Sergio Fedasz, DJ (Go BANG! | SyntheTigers | Moulton Music | KALX)

The songs listed represent the music that I first heard which got me into DISCO, or the songs I've heard since then, which have impacted my life forever. It is the music I love, the world I have been lucky to become a part of, and the style I most passionately DJ. From the first song I was curiously searching out (Deodato's Keep It In The Family) after hearing it at the end of a Derrick Carter mix, to some song highlights of my Disco Icon and Bay Area hero (Sylvester) to my favorite Diva (Loleatta)!

These are the songs that shaped my life, opened my mind, ears, and heart. I could go on about what each song means to me and how each album has touched my life, but I encourage you to read the list, take a picture of it, and look up the songs yourself. See what they make you feel, how they touch you, and maybe you'll have your own story to tell about them as time goes on.

Disco is more than what you may think it is. It is music of the heart, of joy through pain and hardship, and happiness in the darkest times. Music of love, lust, and release. Dancing is living. Disco is the soundtrack of life.

Sergio Fedasz has become something of a San Francisco institution since starting his out-of-control Go BANG! disco party more than five years ago. He started (and is still) DJing at KALX 90.7, the Bay Area's best and most storied radio station, at the end of last century (1997 to be exact), and in 2010 was voted San Francisco's best DJ by readers of SF Weekly. He creates edits of vintage disco tracks & house originals with Allen Craig as The SyntheTigers, released on Moulton Music.
