OMCA Announces 4th Annual Indian Market at Oakland Museum of California on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4
(Oakland, CA) October 27, 2017 — The Oakland Museum of California announces the fourth annual Indian Market at Oakland Museum of California on Friday, November 3 from 3 to 9 pm and Saturday, November 4 from 10 am to 4 pm. One of the only Indian markets of its kind in California, the event features more than 20 local artists and artisans, including traditional hand-woven baskets, ceramic housewares, authentic jewelry, apparel, and more.
Presented in partnership with News from Native California, OMCA’s California Indian Market is an opportunity to purchase authentic California Indian products directly from the makers. Kicking off in tandem with Friday Nights @ OMCA on November 3, visitors and shoppers are invited to peruse works and meet the artists from the California Indian community.
“We’re always excited to welcome back the Indian Market at Oakland Museum of California each year,” says Associate Director of Retail and Product Development Michael Silverman. “This event is a celebration of California indigenous craft with works from artisans coming from all over the state. Our visitors will have the opportunity to find special, locally made items and it’s a great opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for friends and family, directly from the artists.”

The two-day Indian Market at Oakland Museum of California will be held November 3 from 3 to 9 pm and November 4 from 10 am to 4 pm. Museum admission is not required to shop this market.

The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is at 1000 Oak Street, at 10th Street, in Oakland. Museum admission is $15.95 general; $10.95 seniors and students with valid ID, $6.95 youth ages 9 to 17, and free for Members and children 8 and under. There is a $4 charge in addition to general admission pricing for special exhibitions.
