Exclusive OMCA Collections tour for 8 and Dorothea Lange treasures

Be among the few to tour the Museum’s off-site collections facility, the California Collections and Research Center (CCRC)! OMCA Curator of Photography and Visual Culture, Drew Johnson, and Director of Collections, John Burke, will guide you on this behind the scenes adventure. The CCRC houses 90% of the Museum’s permanent collection that contains over 1.9 million items, including works of art, historical artifacts, ethnographic materials, natural specimens and photographs.

Photographer Dorothea Lange is celebrated as one of the most prominent documentarians of the 20th century American experience. The winner of this package will take home a framed print of Lange’s famous Migrant Mother and choose a second print from the Museum’s acclaimed Lange collection.

This intimate tour is an exceptional opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse into the beautiful world of glass art. Join independent contemporary glass curator, Micaëla Van Zwoll, in viewing the Saxe Collection of Contemporary Glass at the residence of Dorothy Saxe in San Francisco. The Saxe Collection is one of the most important contemporary glass collections in the world, including artists such as Robert Arneson, Dale Chihuly, and Viola Frey, to name a few. Following the Saxe Collection, you and your guests will enjoy a visit to the studios of renowned glass artists Marvin Lipofsky and Jay Musler.

Guided by curator Van Zwoll, this day of private touring is a truly special behind-the-scenes opportunity for glass art enthusiasts.
