Teachers and Students!

OMCA is seeking student-created video mashups featuring the San Francisco Bay.

Don’t miss this chance to have your students create original videos related to the Museum’s exhibition, Bay Motion: Capturing San Francisco Bay on Film. By using footage from the Prelinger Archives, or their own, students can produce a video that remixes footage to capture their unique perspective on the Bay. Along with our online curriculum materials, this activity provides a great way to explore the content of OMCA's exhibitions focusing on the San Francisco Bay.

Eligible entries for a special student category will be screened during Friday Nights @ OMCA on February 21, 2014. A panel of judges will choose the best video among the student entries to win the grand prize that includes the Adobe® Creative Suite 6® Master Collection (valued at $3,300), and more! If students enter a video before January 31, 2014, they will be entered into an early drawing for a copy of Adobe® Photoshop 6.

Check out this submission by a Bay Area teacher:

If I Get Home for Supper was submitted by contestant, Justin Seligman, a Bay Area teacher. Using footage from The Prelinger Archives  and an original tune with him featured as the vocalist, Mr. Seligman was able to create a mashup with a unique perspective on San Francisco Bay that has never been seen before. The original tune by the Bay Area band, Swine Flu Pandemic, features Justin Seligman on vocals, Johnson on resonator guitar, Tren Kauzer on Fender Rhodes 73, Ken Ingersoll on drums, and Don Dupont on rhythm guitar.
