Tours
and Programs:
School tours
and programs are offered in California art, history and natural
sciences. The Museum's free 29-page School Program Guide presents
an in-depth description of all resources available to schools and
teachers. To order a copy, call the department at 510-238-3818.
The range of educational offerings includes programs in the classroom
and museum. Classroom exhibit materials include suitcase exhibitions
for grades 4-8 and a natural sciences lending collection.
Community
programs are listed in our calendar.
Look for celebrations of Days of the Dead in October and Juneteenth
in June. The Family
Explorations! series, funded by ChevronTexaco
Corporation with
additional support provided by Wells Fargo,
presents programs usually on a monthly basis
that are designed to allow children and their adult family members
an opportunity to explore creatively topics related to art, history
and natural sciences. In addition, every changing exhibition at
the museum is supplemented with special programs organized and
presented
by the Education Department.
