The Education Department presents programs for school groups, children and their families and adults.

School tours and programs are offered in California art, history, and natural sciences. A variety of educational opportunities are available both at the museum and in the classroom. For an in-depth description of all available resources, call the Education Office at 510-238-3818.

For families and adults, the museum presents festivals and celebrations, along with special events relating to changing exhibitions. Monthly Family Explorations! programs provide children and their adult companions an opportunity to creatively learn and explore topics related to the art, history, and natural sciences of California.
