Friday Nights @ OMCA
Every Friday night, from 5 to 9 pm, OMCA stays open late, teaming up with Off the Grid to offer up a family-friendly take on a festive night market. Adult admission to the Galleries is half-off, and youth 18 and under are free! Friday Nights @ OMCA offers a range of foodie experiences, from a rotating list of the best Bay Area food trucks provided by Off the Grid, to California beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages around the Koi Pond, to the weekly Makers & Tasters Series, with local beer brewers, coffee roasters, organic farmers, and food authors hosting talks, demos, and tastings. Families get in on the fun, with weekly drop-in art activities by the Koi Pond for the young ones, and, once a month on final Fridays, story time with the Oakland Public Library. Monthly music themes infuse the entertainment lineup, with DJs and live bands every night, and a range of performers including dance instructors, magicians, stand-up comedians, flash mobs, and even musical chairs! With artist talks, film programs, special tours of the exhibitions, and in-Gallery activities, there's something new to explore every week. Come see what the East Bay Express has called the 'Most Authentically Oakland Weekly Event.'
