The selection
of contemporary artwork from the museum’s collection,
among them several recent acquisitions, presents varying artistic
points of view and includes photography, ceramics, video, mixed-media
sculptures, and paintings. The works range from Catherine Wagner’s
large digital prints investigating the relationship between art
and science to a watery, dream-state-like painting by Darren Waterston.
A finely detailed maple chair by Frank Gehry is contrasted to Melissa
Pokorny’s sculpture, made from furniture remnants and discarded
fabric.
