Save the Redwoods LeagueNatural Sciences Guild

Dr. Bill Libby, director of Save the Redwoods League, will bring us up to date on the efforts to save the remaining coast redwoods. We will begin at the museum’s exhibit “Future of Sequoias: Sustaining Parklands in the 21st Century” and proceed to Redwood Regional Park to walk among the second-growth trees. Legion of Honor: Tiffany, Lalique, and FabergeArt Guild

We’ll visit the Tiffany, Lalique, and Faberge exhibit at the Legion of Honor and the contemporary art glass windows by Mark Adams at Temple Emanu-el, the Tiffany mosaics at the Oakland Presbyterian Church, and the extraordinary Frank C. A Day at the Races: Golden Gate Fields- History Guild

This is your chance to join us as we partake in the thrill and excitement of viewing thoroughbred horses round the track at Golden Gate Fields. The Sales Manager will meet us when we arrive in the late morning and give us a short tour and history of GGF. We’ll visit the SOMA studio of painter Amy Ellingson, who exhibits with Cheryl Haines; and then see the acclaimed public sculpture at the UCSF campus in Mission Bay. A Visit to King Tut- History Guild

The Boy King returns to San Francisco in the new exhibit, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, opening at the de Young on June 27. We will have an early morning arrival at the museum and will have ample time to view this exhibit, plus others at the de Young. After lunch we will be visiting another museum, not yet determined. A Day at the Academy- History Guild

The new California Academy of Sciences is so spectacular that we will be spending the entire day there, touring the museum on our own. It is the world's greenest museum, a single structure with multiple venues: an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a four-story rain forest.
