Wednesday, September 11, 2013, 10 am
Wednesday, September 11, 2013 - 10:00am

Join the Natural Sciences Guild for a docent-led tour of the Oakland Zoo, a model institution for the humane care of animals, providing spacious habitats to encourage natural behaviors. The Zoo is nationally recognized for its reward-based elephant training method, "Protective Contact," used to provide elephants with medical care and grooming.

Our tour will begin at 10 am and last about one hour. It is a hilly walk on paved trails of about two miles. The fee is $20, and includes parking, admission, and the Docent tour. Carpools will be arranged. Tour space is limited to 15.

To reserve a space, please call Roberta at 510-769-8423 or email rogragy3736@earthlink.net with any questions.
