Natural Sciences Guild Day Trip | Bat Viewing: Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area

Wednesday, July 10, 5 pm–10 pm
Wednesday, July 10, 2013 - 5:00pm

You’ve seen the pictures of thousands of bats coming out at sunset in the evening to forage for insects. This is your chance to see it live! The Yolo Basin Foundation leads trips to this wildlife area in the summer to view the emergence of the bats from under the I-80 causeway.

Our trip will commence at the Oakland Museum of California. We will bus to the Yolo Basin Foundation headquarters for a presentation, and then go on to the wildlife area to await sundown and the emergence of thousands of bats. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share at a potluck dinner in the wildlife area.

Cost is $50 and includes bus, entrance fees, dessert, and coffee/tea. For more information contact Rita at ritareining@comcast.net
