Wednesday, June 25, 2014 - 12:00am

Join the OMCA History Guild for a trip north along the Redwood Highway. On the way to Garberville, we will visit the Grace Hudson Museum and Sun House in Ukiah. After lunch at the Garden Café we’ll continue on to Garberville for our next two nights. Our dinner will be at the Benbow Inn. The next morning, we will begin our trip through the Avenue of the Giants, stopping at the visitor center museum and various groves of big trees culminating at the “Founders Grove” to view the Dyerville Giant. A really Big Tree! We’ll continue on to Scotia for a picnic lunch and a visit to the Scotia Museum. Then, it’s on to Fortuna and a visit to the Fortuna Depot Museum. Dinner will be at the Eel River Brewing Company.

On Friday, the next morning it’s off to Eureka to visit Fort Humboldt State Historical Park (General Ulysses S. Grant was stationed there), lunch at Lost Coast Brewery, a Humboldt Bay Harbor Cruise, the Carson Mansion, and dinner at The Carter House. We spend the night at the historic Eureka Inn. The next day we pack up and leave after breakfast. Lunch will be in Ukiah on our way home. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to take in all the wonders of today and yesterday along the Avenue of the Giants.
