History Guild Day Trip | Sweets, Wine, and Italian Lunch

Friday, April 5, 2013, 8 am–4 pm
Friday, April 5, 2013 - 8:00am

Join the History Guild for an adventure into the wine country for a little dolce vita. Our first stop will be at Wild Flour Bread Bakery in Freestone to indulge in coffee and their famous sticky buns, cream scones, or Cheese Fougasse. Then it’s on to Korbel Champagne Cellars on the Russian River for a winery tour and a wine sampling.

We’ll drive along the Bohemian Highway on our way to the little town of Occidental, nestled among the Redwoods of Sonoma County. After lunch at Negri’s, an Italian restaurant established in 1879, you will have time to enjoy a leisurely walk along Occidental’s two-block-long main street to browse their gift shops that sell everything from crystals, herbs, and handmade soaps to toys and garden statues.
