Heritage Society Fall Program: Collections Behind the Scenes

Tuesday, November 19, 2013 - 9:00am

The frog crest hat currently in the Museum’s collections was once one of the most important ceremonial and sacred objects belonging to the Kaach.ádi clan of the Tlingit in Wrangell, Alaska. The clan is now asking for its return as an item of sacred and cultural patrimony. See this amazing Native American artifact and hear from the team of registrars, curators, and experience developers about their journey to reunite this sacred object with its clan, while documenting its nearly 200-year-old story.

This program is part of an invitation-only series for Heritage Society members, a group of people who have included OMCA in their estate plans. In appreciation of the stability and continuity these gifts provide to the Museum, OMCA is pleased to make special opportunities like this available. Click here to learn more about Legacy Giving.
