#BayMotion Video Mashup Contest Screening
Join us for a juried screening of videos made by amateur, student, and professional filmmakers inspired by the San Francisco Bay! The screening takes place during the Museum’s weekly late-night event Friday Nights @ OMCA. This contest is inspired by current exhibition Bay Motion: Capturing San Francisco Bay on Film, highlighting the Prelinger Archives, a collection of over 60,000 ephemeral films—exploring how the San Francisco Bay and the surrounding region has been captured by amateur, professional, and industrial camera people.
A distinguished panel of guest judges from renowned local organizations will discuss and jury the entries and award the Grand Prize, including the Adobe® Creative Suite® 6 Master Collection, a tour of Bay Motion, and two tickets to the highly-anticipated Lost Landscapes of Oakland on the following day.
Guest judges include:
- Jeff Key, Executive Director, Media Enterprise Alliance (MEA)
- Susan Mernit, Executive Director, Oakland Local and media entrepreneur
- Masashi Niwano, Festival and Exhibitions Director at the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM)
- Megan Prelinger, Co-Founder, Prelinger Archives, and author
No Museum admission required to attend.
